The Moscow City Court annulled the verdict against the former deputy governor of the Samara region Gennady Gendin in the case of embezzlement of public funds of the MEKA Lawyers' Union in the amount of 3.8 million rubles. This was reported in consultation with law enforcement agencies.

The prosecutor requested a sentence of 8.5 years in prison for Gendin. On September 10, the court sentenced him to six years in prison in the colony of the general regime. He does not admit his guilt.
