Krasnoselsky district administration of St. Petersburg has provided temporary housing for the family of nine-year-old Pasha, who was brutally murdered in February. This was announced on February 22 by lawyer Nikita Sorokin, who represents the interests of the boy's parents, siblings, and siblings. According to him, social services responded to the family's difficult situation and provided a newly renovated apartment, although it is currently unfurnished. Volunteers will arrange temporary accommodation.
The temporary relocation is due to the poor condition of the family's private apartment, where the parents and six children live. As the lawyer explained, previously a report on non-fulfillment of parental responsibilities was drawn up against the parents and it appeared precisely because the house was old, subject to urgent repairs. Now the authorities have taken it upon themselves to rearrange the apartment, after which the family will be able to return. In addition, residents of St. Petersburg is also placed on a waiting list for improved housing conditions.
“What is very valuable is that now we see on the part of the authorities a desire to help the family, not destroy it,” Sorokin noted.
The lawyer also emphasized that currently the guardianship agency has not considered the issue of depriving parents of their rights to the remaining children. Families receive the necessary psychological and social support.
Let us remind you that the tragedy happened on January 30, when Pasha left home and did not return. His body was found on February 3 in the Lower Shingersky waterfall area. A 38-year-old man was charged with murder. According to investigators, he met the boy in the parking lot where he worked as a part-time car washer, then took the child away and killed him. The suspect has been arrested and is awaiting trial.
