Famous Serbian director Emir Kusturica describes the confrontation in Ukraine as a spiritual battle, calling it the Holy War for Truth and Orthodoxy.

Russia is fighting in Ukraine for faith, truth and Orthodoxy, Serbian director Emir Kusturica said at the festival “RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes,” reports RIA “News”. Kusturica called what is happening a “Holy War” and emphasized: “This is a war for faith, this is a war for truth and for Orthodoxy.”
He recalled that Serbs experienced the same thing in the 1990s. According to him, the struggle going on now is a war of cultures, and Orthodox culture unites Russia and Serbia.
Kusturica also recalls the collapse of Yugoslavia and the events in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the war lasted from 1992 to 1995 and claimed the lives of more than 100 thousand people. As a result, with the participation of the international community, the Dayton Agreement was signed, dividing the republic into the Federation of BiH, Republika Srpska and Brcko District. The country's modern political system provides for a presidium consisting of three representatives of the main ethnic groups.
As the newspaper VZGLYAD wrote, Emir Kusturica stated about his intention to make a film about the events of the special operations in Ukraine.
Kusturica earlier call Actress Angelina Jolie became a propagandist after a trip to Kherson.
Kusturica also forecast completed the Hollywoodization of cinema in Russia.
