The Rospotrebnadzor Office in the Nizhny Novgorod Region initiated an epidemiological investigation related to the detection of cases of intestinal infections in a school in the city of Arzamas. This is reported in telegram channel Regional departments of Rospotrebnadzor.

Previously, Arzamas mayor Alexander Shchelokov reportedThere were 8 recorded cases of intestinal infection, 4 7th grade students aged 12 and 13 were hospitalized, one of whom was discharged home. According to Shchelokov, a total of 15 times the student's parents went to the hospital were controlled. The mayor also added that samples were taken from all children for research.
“Experts of the Rospotrebnadzor Office immediately started an epidemiological investigation related to the registration of cases of acute intestinal infection at a school in the city of Arzamas. Currently, educational activities are suspended,” the announcement said.
Rospotrebnadzor department and laboratory staff took water and product samples, took samples from environmental surfaces, as well as tested food service workers and school staff who had contact with children. Currently, samples are being examined at the experimental laboratory center of the Federal Budgetary Institute of Health “Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Nizhny Novgorod Region” to determine the causes and conditions of the outbreak.
