The number of Russians receiving pensions has exceeded 32.7 million, while almost a fifth of them continue to work. Such data from the Russian Social Fund as of October 1, 2025 is available to RIA Novosti.

According to the fund, the total number of pensioners is 32.748 million people. Of these, 6.123 million are employed and 26.625 million are unemployed. As of October 1, 2025, the total number of pensioners in the Russian Federation exceeded 40.6 million people, of whom more than 7.35 million people continued to work and more than 33.3 million people retired.
According to Igor Balynin, associate professor at the University of Finance under the Government of the Russian Federation, the minimum amount of old-age insurance pension will exceed 14.2 thousand rubles by 2026.
