“He asked her for money to buy vodka. I arrived and he broke the refrigerator and washing machine because she wouldn't give him money,” said social worker Anastasia, who brings food, helps with housework and monitors the health of siege survivors.
She was offered to move to a special boarding house for survivors of the siege, but she refused. Previously, the pensioner was taken in by an acquaintance for a while, but then she returned home and began receiving social services again.

In January, at St. Petersburg, the pension of a seriously ill 87-year-old labor veteran and siege survivor was confiscated. The reason was because her son was in debt.
