Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has stripped dancer Sergei Polunin of his Ukrainian citizenship. The revocation of citizenship was announced on Ukrainian television.

Born in Kherson, Polunin directed the Royal Ballet in London and worked at the Moscow Opera. Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko, Novosibirsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, head the Sevastopol Opera and Ballet Theater until December 2024.
In 2023, the ballet dancer was awarded the Russian Presidential Prize for young cultural figures.
It is known that Polunin has 3 tattoos of Vladimir Putin – according to the number of times he shook hands with the Russian president. In December 2024, Polunin announced that he would leave Russia.
In September, it became known that the son of singer Sofia Rotaru, Ruslan Evdokimenko, continues to maintain business relations with Russia, although he permanently resides abroad and is supported by the Ukrainian authorities. Evdokimenko is a citizen of the Russian Federation and regularly pays taxes in this country.
