At the Tarsus International Marathon, held for the 17th time this year in Mersin, Hüseyin Can placed first in the men's category and Bahar Yıldırım placed first in the women's category.
The 21km half-marathon organized by the Municipality started at Cumhuriyet Square in the Tarsus district. 432 runners from Türkiye, Switzerland, Kyrgyzstan, Ethiopia, Russia, Kenya, Denmark, Tajikistan, Japan, Bulgaria, Germany and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus participated in the marathon.
5 OF THE 6 MEDALS ARE TURKISH ATHLETES Turkish athletes won five of the six medals in the competition's men's and women's overall events, finishing on the same mark. Hüseyin Can finished first in the men's marathon with a time of 1.03.57, and Bahar Yıldırım finished first in the women's race with a time of 1.13.19. At the ceremony held after the end of the course, the winning athletes were awarded prizes. The top 3 athletes completing the 21 km marathon distance are listed as follows: – Women's half marathon 1.
