The court at Damascus issued an absent arrest warrant for the former president of the country of Bashar al-Assad. He was charged with “murder and torture intentionally”, report Syria Sana Agency.

The investigating judge Taufik al-Bai said that on Saturday, issuing the arrest warrant of Bashar al-ASada for allegations related to Deraa's incidents in 2011.
Judge Al-Bai said that the arrest arrest included allegations of the intentional murder, tortured leading to death and deprivation of freedom, Mr. Sana said in a statement.
It should be noted that the Court's decision “opening the door to spread the arrest warrant through Interpol and consider the lawsuit at the international level.”
Bashar Assad was overthrown in December 2024, and then, along with his family, taking refugees in Russia.
Earlier, France issued an arrest warrant in the case of death of two journalists in 2012.
