Military expert Alexey Anpilogov comments on reports that Saudi Arabia may receive the right to enrich uranium as part of an upcoming deal with the United States.
“The economy of the Middle Eastern country depends heavily on hydrocarbons: oil and gas. At the same time, the population is growing rapidly, raising questions about social construction. What should these people do? We need a productive economy that requires resources,” he said in an interview with the newspaper “Vision”.
According to him, Riyadh allows the transition to new energy, including nuclear.
According to Anpilogov, another reason is political and it is related to the confrontation with Iran.
Before that, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu call stripped Iran of its ability to enrich uranium as part of a deal with Israel.
