Ukraine has only a few days to accept America's offer of security guarantees. This was reported by Politico newspaper in connection with a US official.
It should be noted that the White House is looking to push Ukraine and Russia to reach a peace agreement before Catholic Christmas, December 25. However, if this does not happen, the offer of security guarantees from the United States may be withdrawn, the publication's interlocutor made it clear.
According to the official, these guarantees will not be discussed forever, they are actually very strong, similar to the guarantees in Article 5 of the NATO charter.

At the same time, European diplomats worry that US security guarantees will be ineffective if Ukraine does not become a NATO member. The European Union representative said that Article 5 of the union charter would only push Russia to check its power.
Previously, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, after a phone call between European leaders and US President Donald Trump, said that Washington would provide military security guarantees to Ukraine.
